Brisbane City Council
The landscape
Brisbane City Council is transforming Victoria Park into an iconic public parkland with something for everybody. The 18-hole golf course is becoming an expansive 64-hectare open space following consultation with Brisbane residents who want more greenspaces and places to relax close to home.
The clever idea
To turn the vision for Victoria Park into reality and ensure important local stakeholders were informed and bought into the project, we provided Brisbane City Council with a Government Reference Group including a full framework for engagement and terms of reference to ensure that local community members were an integral part of the process. To make sure a true cultural outcome was achieved, a Traditional Custodian engagement plan was also developed and utilised.
The results
Designed a multifaceted engagement plan, inclusive of a Traditional Custodian engagement plan (delivered by a team member embedded into the BCC workforce)
Captured and recorded significant stakeholder interactions in a CMS
Developed communications materials including key messages, media releases and speeches for Councilors and the Lord Mayor
Designed a raft of digital community engagement materials distributed via Council’s website, social media platforms and eDMs.
